Robinson’s Italian Ice started with a simple idea of turning families’ favorite dessert into a business. Two teachers passionate about making ends meet for their family stepped out on faith and making an impact on the children in their community launched their business. Robinson’s Italian Ice is a local, black-owned company in Tampa Bay.
We serve delicious Italian ice with refreshing flavors like Strawberry Lemonade, Blue Raspberry, Mango Passion, and more, from a mobile truck and trailer. Here at Robinson’s Italian Ice, we are passion-driven and continuously aspire to give back to the community in various ways. Robinson’s Italian Ice is a privately-owned business that is committed to creating beloved memories that’ll make your tastebuds dance, all while giving back to education.

Team Robinson, as we are affectionately known in our community, serves with a smile. We love connecting with people and making sure you walk away with a tasty treat and experience that is not only “better than good!”- but an addition to your family’s most treasured dessert memories together.
Rafael Robinsons strives to positively impact the community he grew up in and be the change he would like to see.
Rafael Robinson is born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL where he was brought up with good principles by great people. He was taught to be an exceptional person even if that meant standing alone. Rafael was surrounded by a family of great educators and was inspired to go into the education field to contribute to the impact the family was already making in the community. He attended Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University (FAMU) where he began to volunteer and serve others. As a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, his focus was brotherhood, scholarship, and service. He volunteered in over one thousand service hours and worked on projects such as food drives, sleep out for the homeless, literacy champions, and roadside cleanups. After college, he began working as one of the only black male primary school teachers in Pinellas County Schools. He quickly learned that his impact could be more widespread. He saw a need in education for STEM literature and his love for literacy led him and his Aunt, Engineer Cheryl Henry, to create The Aedi Foundation and the Super Sprocket STEM Series.
Amber Robinson loves to build relationships and help people.
Amber grew up in New York with beloved childhood memories of Italian ice treats from a local entrepreneur. She has always been driven by teaching and helping others, an example learned from her parents who owned a business and gave to the community. Helping and giving to others is what truly makes her heart fulfilled. As a teenager, she moved to St. Petersburg and went on to study Elementary Education at Florida State University. She began teaching primary-aged children in Pinellas County Schools year-long and earned her National Board Certification in early childhood education. She has the drive to help others in the community and has presented STEM to educators, given back to students with free tutoring, and in 2019 was awarded Outstanding Educator by Florida Association of Science teachers at their annual conference. She has poured this work ethic and family values into building Robinson’s Italian ice into a staple in our community.

Although Amber was giving back in Tallahasse just down the hill from Rafael, they didn’t meet until years later.
We were great friends and colleagues for 10 years and then realized we were so much better together! As team Robinson, we have accomplished so much more! In education, we have brought STEM education to after-school clubs in our community schools with schools in need, taught teachers how to bring STEM education into their classrooms through multiple presentations at NSTA’s STEM Forum, and given countless hours to community events. As parents, we are passionate and motivated to make ends meet, live by example, and give an entrepreneurial spirit to our children. That is what led us to step out of faith and launch Robinson’s Italian Ice- sharing Amber’s favorite childhood treat! We started humbly as teachers do. Starting with a cooler in hand the Robinson’s hit the streets of beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida to make their dreams become a reality. Our drive led us to add a pushcart, then two! Later, a commercial tent and eventually a mobile Italian ice truck.
Our determination combined with our love for family, people, and giving back to the community is what makes Robinson’s Italian Ice “better than good!”
Italian ice brings the community together and allows us to give back to education! Our delicious treat does far more than allow customers to indulge in a perfect cup of Italian ice.
